2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Asylum[edit]

What is the U.S. policy on granting asylum to people who flee from oppressive regimes? Landmartian (talk) 22:15, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Complicated, legalistic, and full of contradictions? I mean, it exists, and it has rules for granting hearings for those in need. Anything answer more detailed than that probably calls for a lawyer. Ikanreed (talk) 22:34, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
When compared to Europe or even Canada the US has a relatively liberal Asylum policy [1]. It is also my understanding that it can in certain circumstances, be expedited, for instance seaking asylum was and still is easier for those fleeing a communist regime or a regime of another one of our enemies.
