Excuse me, but the title and wording of the argument clearly indict this as an essay. Shouldn't we move it there (to the essayspace)? Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 10:35, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have made a request on Phantoms talk page. This is not an essay. In fact, this is the kind of bureaucratic obscurity I'm complaining about! (Invasion of my property, assumption of authority, moving without my consent etc. etc. Thank you for providing me with a profound point so theatrically!) Libertarian1 (talk) 10:41, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- RationalWiki is not your private property. No real website IS "private property," but if you really meant it to be on a website completely controlled by you you could probably shell out the money for a hosting service. Ozznova (talk) 10:44, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- (EC) Lol, I can see you being my new favorite character around here :) Welcome! CrundyTalk nerdy to me 10:45, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Of course its not my private property, I was making a very intellectual point (Which doesn't necessarily have to be factual :) Libertarian1 (talk) 10:46, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- We tried running RationalWiki in a completely libertarian manner once. That was how it was when it started. Worked too. But once the user base got larger 20 regular users it went to shit, everyone was fighting with each other, there was no organization. We had to organize. Agree everything was decided on a case by case basis from the users consensus. Now the user base is more than 150 user. We have to set general guidelines and work with in them. Fighting got so bad again we have had to bring on a new arbitration system. - π 12:06, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Which so far hasn't been used yet. I think the idea that there's something there that will have the final say if the situation gets out of hand is helping people keep cooler heads. Not due to fear or oppression, but because there's no point in getting inflamed if your position is just going to be swept aside by a single decider. Let's see how long that lasts. bomination 12:13, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
