Phil Jackson (17 September 1945–) is best known as a basketball coach, but has written numerous books addressing spirituality as well, often in the context of his basketball philosophy, such as Sacred Hoops.[1] As far back as 1990, Jackson reported in a Chicago Tribune interview: "I’ve always liked the concept of God being beyond anything that the human mind can conceive. I think there is a pantheistic-deistic-American Indian combination religion out there for Americans. That rings true to me."[2]
