Correlation does not equal causation[edit]
I read this essay as suggesting there is some direct connection between Christianity and obesity. I don't think there is. I think poorer, less educated people, are more likely to be obese; and poorer, less educated people, are also more likely to religious. But there is no direct connection between religiousity and obesity, only indirectly via poverty and lack of education. I would add that just because poorer or less educated people tend to be more religious, has nothing necessarily to do with the truth or falsehood of religion. I say this being myself a somewhat overweight, well-paid, university-educated professional, who also happens to be quite religious (albeit in rather unconventional ways). --(((Zack Martin)))™ 07:12, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Maratrean, I note you've been unable to find a single factual error in the "Christians and Obesity" article. There certainly is a lot of evidence for the link between Christianity and obesity, and a single look at some of the obese Christians all around us will confirm that there is indeed a strong correlation between Christianity and obesity. Christianity will certainly soon collapse under its own weight, haha! Moreover, if you had any machismo, you would debate Ace directly. I'm afraid I must declare victory! Olé Olé Olé! - Seriously though, this is a satire of of somebody else's "satire" over at Conservapedia. You can read the original here, if you're willing to jump through a few hoops like finding a proxy and hoping the site isn't under attack, just so you can have your faith in human reason shattered.
