- I work very hard at being mental. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:35, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- Totally mental, but I like it so far!--Dumpling (talk) 06:21, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
- I recommend changing the title, so as not to confuse it with the "A Modest Proposal" that has been suggested by Swift or Stephen Colbert. I would suggest something equally snarky, if I could think of it...what's more modest than modest? --Sethpeck (talk) 20:39, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I picked "A Modest Proposal" because it's an immediate signifier of satire (as opposed to an extended exercise in Poe's Law). It's also such an iconic title—enough that there're probably several dozen contemporary essays floating around with the same title (which, I just realized, is an argument against using that name). - You see, with a title like that you could actually get published! bomination 22:54, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- I liked "A Modest Proposal" better IMO. It's like a 21st century equivalent of Jonathan Swift. Osaka Sun (talk) 04:38, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
- I can't change it back. The cognitive dissonance is simply too strong. :) Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 04:41, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

In all seriousness...[edit]
Wesley Lowe's essay in support of the death penalty is the most repulsive work on the subject I've ever read. I was gobsmacked when he cited British treatment of Indians as a paragon of justice. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 20:31, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
