Arceusology, also known as Poképaganism, is a polytheistic religion involving the worship of the Pokémon Arceus, as well as other powerful Pokémon such as Dialga and Palkia. Arceus was said to use His powers to prevent from Giratina, the demiurge of antimatter, from destroying His creation by ensuring baryon asymmetry.
Arceusologist creationism[edit]
Arceusology has its own form of creationism, whose followers cite the below "information" to support their beliefs:
- "It is described in mythology as the Pokémon that shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms."
- "It is told in mythology that this Pokémon was born before the universe even existed."
- "It is said to have emerged from an egg in a place where there was nothing, then shaped the world."
"Mewism"[edit]
Today scientists generally accept that all modern-day Pokémon are descended from the Pokémon Mew. Anti-science Areceusologists, who still follow Arceusologist creationism, derogatorily refer to people who accept common descent of Pokémon as Mewists.
