2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

RW Library[edit]

We've also got the dormant Forum:Book Club with individual recommendations, although that one isn't restricted to skeptical literature. Should we merge them? Maybe this would also be a good opportunity to implement a voting system. Röstigraben (talk) 06:52, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

  • I'd say repurpose the book club page to books people specifically want to feature, and merge the rest of the content here. This is basically meant as a links page for dead treespace, so all of that content should be here; since the book club page isn't likely to be taken under the ownership of anyone in particular, setting it up something like a WIGO page would probably be better than a straight merge. Unfamiliar terminology[edit]

For the benefit of our younger readers, shouldn't we provide a brief description of what "books" were? History classes don't cover everything. Sophiebecause liberals 10:53, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

If anyone doesn't know what a book is, let me know, I'll come visit them and whack them over the head with one. Then they'll know what a book is! (((Zack Martin))) 10:59, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Ohmy.gif Unacceptable behaviour includes: death threats; threats of physical or sexual violence; advocating that a user commit suicide. The same behaviours are also unacceptable when directed at third-parties who are not site participants. It should be noted that such conduct, as well as not being acceptable on this site, may also constitute a criminal offence in many jurisdictions.
