RationalWiki talk:Moderator elections/Nominations/Archive6
election[edit]
There's another election coming up soon, isn't there? Thankfully, the wiki has been quiet, but having moderators is nice just in case "HCM" ever rears its ugly (lack of) head--"Shut up, Brx." 18:07, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
- Meh. There's nothing from RW:ATIM or it's talkpage within the last six months, and nothing at the Chicken Coop that wasn't frivolous. I suggest we let things go on as they have been rather than go through the usual biannual popularity contest for something that makes so little difference. ₩€₳$€£ΘĪÐ

- Perhaps moderation has made a difference, I can't remember when we last had an HCM that sucked in half the wiki. SophieWilder

- I don't think having another election would be so bad. MC got elected last time and the wiki didn't freak out.--"Shut up, Brx." 23:34, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
- It's a waste of time and energy all so you can shit talk candidates, vote some sockpuppets, try turning it into a popularity contest, and generally continue being the odious shit you are. You obviously care more than anyone else, which is reason enough to do the opposite of what you're urging given your history of stirring up shit.

- My history of stirring up shit is actually a reaction to you acting like a piece of shit--"Shut up, Brx." 12:56, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for reminding me that I left "lie about people who call you on being a noxious racist halfwit" off the list!

- Nope, you're a piece of shit. Remember when you randomly insulted Ty, for example? Or your transphobic attack on Blue?--"Shut up, Brx." 14:18, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Jeez, get a room you two. Wěǎšěǐǒǐď

If we are going to forestall the election, should we do it by fiat or have a referendum on extending the mandate of the current mods for six months or something? PowderSmokeAndLeather: Say something once, why say it again?. 14:40, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Let's not & say we did. Wėąṣėḷőįď

- Except when the next HCM comes around, it will be exacerbated by the lack of clear authority. No one will be able to stop it, because no one will be able to. What will happen then is that eventually the furor will die down, as everyone gets tired of arguing (after a much longer period than with moderation). But this seeming lull is only a facade, as the underlying issues wouldn't be resolved. Later, the same fights will inevitably erupt again. Thus we have the cyclical HCM that led us to institute the moderator system in the first place. Let's have some elections, forget about it for six months, and start over.--"Shut up, Brx." 21:57, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
