If a tomato is a fruit...[edit]

...would a tomato cake be a kind of fruitcake? Or would it be something else entirely? I find myself wondering about these things. --AKjeldsenGodspeed! 16:44, 25 February 2008 (EST)

Yes it would since tomatoes are fruits. NightFlareSpeak, mortal 16:45, 25 February 2008 (EST)

Liberal bias. tmtoulouse heckle 16:56, 25 February 2008 (EST)

I must admit that I did not expect a Google search for 'tomato cake' to return in excess of 700,000 hits. But it did, and I now find myself developing a curious craving for Green Tomato Cake. --AKjeldsenGodspeed! 16:57, 25 February 2008 (EST)

You say tomato, I say tomato, tomato, tomato, let's call the whole thing off. Sterilexx 17:16, 25 February 2008 (EST)

Is there an actually a recipe here?[edit]

It seems to call for pounding the shit out of three tomatoes with ...a hammer? PFoster 17:51, 25 May 2008 (EDT)

Straddling that elusive grey zone between cooking and avantgarde banal performance art. I approve. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:58, 25 May 2008 (EDT)
I think I might have added that so there would be a recipe. But it might have been some other kitteh. If I didn't write it, I wish I did. Very Dada. Or something equally cool that encourages wearing black. Also, it calls for pounding the shit out of the hammer with the tomatos. ħψɱɐUser talk:Human 22:09, 25 May 2008 (EDT)
Wow, I did add it - see comment above on 2/27... :) ħψɱɐUser talk:Human 22:09, 25 May 2008 (EDT)
Smashed tomatoes is the new black. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 03:29, 26 May 2008 (EDT)

TOMATO IS VEGETABLE[edit]

Because, as we all know, the most meaningful definition of "vegetable" is "sort of like a fruit, but mind-numbingly flavourless". Under that definition, the tomato is a vegetable and a half, and if you disagree you can calcify me. <font=""; face="Comic Sans MS">Jellyfish!Doors in the rudders of big ships 22:16, 25 May 2008 (EDT)

Tomato in season and fresh is fruit. Tasty, sweet, dripping with goo, and a total pleasure to mouthify. A FRUIT!!! Tomato out of season and trucked in, "ripened" on said truck, is neither. It is plastic substitute for food. ħψɱɐUser talk:Human 00:54, 26 May 2008 (EDT)
