Another one? *sigh* I motion to relocate this "article" to the essayspace. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 19:05, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

This article is nothing more than a factoid expressed as a personal observation. Which would be fine in the essayspace, but not in the mainspace. Are we going to make an article for every factoid that strikes our fancy now? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 19:05, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

P.S. Please use, you know, logical reasoning for keeping this here. "I 'feel' it belongs here" should not pass muster, especially on a wiki that has rational in its name. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 19:05, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

"Are we going to make an article for every factoid that strikes our fancy now?" Sure, why not? I'm not sure what your concept of "essay" vs. "article" is, but on this site most of our articles are essays - the "essay" space is for mostly-uneditable single editor works. ħumanUser talk:Human 20:10, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
Fine. I call dibs on Human is 48 years old. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 20:12, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

I think that's called being POINTy... ħumanUser talk:Human 20:33, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
I notice that rather than addressing the essay vs. article issue, you have chosen to misrepresent me via the intercom, and create junk articles to try to "make a point". Perhaps you should switch from Jolt (or Dew?) to something mellower... ħumanUser talk:Human 21:05, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
Yeah, wp:WP:Point. We get it, now stop filling up mainspace with crap. See also wp:WP:OSE. ThunderkatzHo! 21:10, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
I fail to see the point of citing Wikipedia policy. or were you pointing at that other wikis exist? Totnesmartin 21:13, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
We might not be WP, but they still make a lot of good points about working together as a community and being an editor who works for the project's sake. ThunderkatzHo! 21:15, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
Like wp:WP:BOLLOCKS and ignore all rules? (although yes I get your point). Totnesmartin 21:19, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
I apologize for misleading you. My primary goal was to remove this from the mainspace. At the time, the first option that occurred to me was relocation (rather than outright deletion). I now motion to delete this article. It is supremely irrelevant to any and all of our goals as a site. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 21:42, 14 September 2008 (EDT)

Nevermind. I didn't even notice that Javascap deleted it already! Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 21:43, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
Yup. Shall I vapourise this page as well, or... what? ĵ₳¥ášÇ♠ʘ thinking of what to say next
I don't see why - this particular "factoid" has had huge ramifications in all of our worlds and lives. Could it be written better? Maybe. Do we ignore the irrationality of a tiny number of confused voters totally screwing up our world? I think not. ħumanUser talk:Human 23:10, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
I would believe in preserving the talk pages of deleted articles, in order to preserve a publically accessibly record of why it was deleted, and all the fighting that went into it (which a simple deletion summary is to short to ever effectively communicate). Having looked at the now deleted article, I wouldn't say it's any less relevant than many of our other more politically motivated articles.--Bobbing up 03:23, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
Perhaps merge with Florida? Most of our place articles are just snark buckets. OK I like snark , lulz etc but some actual serious content would be good. Totnesmartin 06:16, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
