2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Slur[edit]

Perhaps this is done in jest, but if we define this term as a "slur" at the outset, is it appropriate for us to use it to describe people in the rest of the article? Imagine an article that starts like this: "Faggot is a slur used to describe a homosexual person." Then later in the article: "Faggots have made great contributions to various cultures throughout history. There are many respectable faggots in government, politics, and academia. . . ." 141.248.3.253 (talk) 18:49, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't think "slur" is the right word anyway. I'll take it out.--Weirdstuff (talk) 19:01, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

'Logic'[edit]

The Bible, according to these people, is The Word Of God: therefore, in hitting the Bible they are attacking God. Anna Livia (talk) 09:41, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
