Come on, feed the troll some more

I can tell I am pushing your buttons.

No you're not. You're boring me. You're the same bargain bin edgelord troll that I've seen dozens of times here, and will see dozens of times after you're gone. I don't hate you, Grawp. I don't feel anything for you. This is a janitorial job, nothing more. RoninMacbeth (talk) 18:00, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

The IP is a failed troll - who doesn't recognise 'pretending to be serious.' Anna Livia (talk) 18:28, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Your style

I find that a lot of what you say really captures the essence of what the "debate" comes down to. I just can't help but add my thoughts on top of that.

So good job, I guess. I'll probably be unwatching birdman's talk page, I doubt he/she is going to have any sudden change of heart and discuss things properly any time soon. And hey, you can spell English words properly ;) —Kazitor, pending 10:40, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Unblock yourself

You can do it!! Go here: Special:Block/Anna_Livia, change the settings. —ClickerClock (talk) 11:27, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Two questions: 1. why? 2. Why not use the "initiation [...] " block reason? —Kazitor, pending 11:38, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
I didnt know that was a thing. —ClickerClock (talk) 11:41, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
Still the first question: why? —Kazitor, pending 11:55, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
It's a old Rationalwiki joke. —ClickerClock (talk) 11:57, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
Sure, but it's very out of the blue. Seems like the whole blocking thing is dying down anyway. —Kazitor, pending 11:58, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
And unless it is between 'joshing partners'/the context makes it purportedly amusing (or it is done for good reason) it is likely to annoy the people it is done to. Some people will not have the time/patience/(technical or other) ingenuity to do it/will decide they would rather use their ingenuity elsewhere rather than faffing around etc. Anna Livia (talk) 19:49, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Stop responding to vandals

And try not to talk about them too as you did in Salon Bar. I'm not good at avoiding talking about them, but it's good practice to ignore, revert, ban instead of conversing with a troll. Rule of thumb: the less said about and to them, the better. So can you please stop responding to them? I'll have to block you more if you continue doing that. :< --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 22:45, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

With regards to trolls

You might want to put {{User NoTrolls}} either on your userpage or this page; to give explicit permission to others to revert trolling. Otherwise, you might be doing it yourself since it's usually bad etiquette to interfere with talk pages. —Kazitor, pending 10:29, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Guess you're not quite familiar with the syntax. Put {{User NoTrolls}} as it appears on the page, not with the "tl" stuff. I fixed it for you :) —Kazitor, pending 10:48, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Pinging users

Hey @Anna Livia, I only learned this, myself, a couple weeks ago. The syntax for pinging somebody is not the "@" sign. It is {{ping|their account name}}.--Bertrc (talk) 23:12, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Oops, sorry. Please disregard. It was Shabidoo who was simply typing @Bertrc. Sorry, I got the posts of the two of you conflated. --Bertrc (talk) 00:32, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

Strangely enough, you were previously demoted promoted to Sysop, but were not made an autopatrolled user first. You are now one. Nerd271 (talk) 15:11, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

@Nerd, all of the extra rights autopatrolled people are given are also given to sysops so there's no need for both. Christopher (talk) 15:48, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
@Christopher Indeed. I added those rights for reasons of completeness. Thank you nonetheless. Nerd271 (talk) 15:59, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

reply to 'More San Names'

What did you reply after that? I know you posted something but it was removed for some reason.

@Anna Indeed there's nothing someone in the Twin Towers could have done. But could American policy have prevented Islamic terrorism from appearing in the first place? Now that's a more complex question.
These are often names of places originally settled or inhabited by non-speaking immigrants/natives and written in either a way their own languages would spell or in a way some official believed approximates the pronunciation. In cases where the words are of English origin the cause of this inconvenience is insufficient spelling reforms for which prejudiced literati and linguists are responsible. Borrowing Gods from foreign cultures would bring about similar problems. It's not that I'm entirely against it but it has its setbacks.
It's absolutely true that what is read can be interpreted differently by different people and that the identity or presumed motives of who says it can be decisive about whether people choose to believe it or not. Still, effort should be made to refute someone's ideas and claims rather than make assumptions about their character or motives. Those assumptions might very well be true but it's just etiquette that we avoid it as it helps keep things civil. When an internet discussion degenerates to an invective-hurling contest it's because one of the two parties called the other a name and the other party wasn't able to resist the temptation to retaliate. Just checking

Hey @Anna Livia, I just wanted to ping outside the talk page to find out if you are deliberately pretending to misunderstand about particles in the void, or if I truly haven't been clear. You have brought up some flavor of "There is no reason for 'Deity or Deities' to do anything in 'the void' - so by the definition given 'evil exists there.'" a few times, even though I feel I have often distinguished between God doing something vs God being present. You once even said it after I explicitly wrote: "in the void between galaxies, God is more fully included and at the center of existence than He is here on Earth".

I would fully accept any of the following admissions from you, but just want to know which:

  1. Yeah, I'm just messing with you by repeatedly talking about God doing things as the definition of good, even though you keep screaming that "God being present" is the definition of good. It is funny to see you tie yourself up in linguistic knots.
  2. You blather on so much that I don't actually bother to read everything you say. Seriously, would you read all of that?
  3. You are really incoherent and have not at all explained how "God being present in the void" is at all different from "God actively having to do things in the void". At least, you haven't explained it in a way that makes sense to any sane person who is not high on drugs.

(BTW, I would totally get and understand any of those reasons! :-D )

--Bertrc (talk) 14:47, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Hey @Anna Livia, from your reply on my page, I see how obviously confusing my post above was. I was trying to be humorous by writing possible answers from your perspective. ie. That you might explicitly say "I'm just messing with you." I should have just written it from my perspective. At no time did I mean to imply you were on drugs; I was self-deprecatingly saying that only somebody on drugs would understand me.
Here is what I should have written (I will leave my initial post up, though, as a badge of shame on me):
  1. You're just messing with me by repeatedly talking about God doing things as the definition of good, even though I keep screaming that "God being present" is the definition of good. You, understandably, find it funny to see me tie myself up in linguistic knots.
  2. I blather on so much that you don't actually bother to read everything I say. Seriously, even I have a hard time reading all of that.
  3. I am really incoherent and have not at all explained how "God being present in the void" is at all different from "God actively having to do things in the void". At least, I haven't explained it in a way that makes sense to any sane person who is not high on drugs.
Sorry for the confusion. I am inferring that you are opting for reason number 3. --Bertrc (talk) 14:44, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

BTW, I notice you are doing something that I used to always do. You are explicitly typing "@Bertrc". If you are not deliberately avoiding such, there is a special wiki syntax that will send me a special alert about your comment; the displayed text of this syntax will appear as "@Bertrc" when the page is viewed. Just type "ping|Bertrc" within a set of double curly braces -- ie. {{ping|Bertrc}} --Bertrc (talk) 17:08, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Yo

@Anna Livia, I noticed your request for a poem on the Moonbat talk page. I made one.

Regarding your recently-created draft

Hi Anna Livia,

Your Stories

Hey Anna Livia, If you are not worried about connecting this id to something of yours outside RW, I would love to read your stories. Any chance they are simply under some other account on some anonymous blog?

I totally get if having this account connected to something else would freak you out, though. Like I said, somewhere: RW is about as close to social media as I let myself get. The internet, on the whole, just freaks me out. --Bertrc (talk) 19:18, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Gentlemen! I will castrate your precious bear, enabling me to destroy atheism on the internet. You should all be envisioning over Operation Nob, which will likely give Conservapedia a top result on a certain search engine starting with G.

"Dearest Ladies and Gentlemen at a rather liberal website

In regards to the subject of my article and the French Revolution, you neglect that If you could face this unpleasant reality in your article on your website about yourselves, I will be impressed. However, I do not expect to be impressed lest I allow you to disappoint me. In fact, by my birthday, it is likely Evolution will have lost all vestiges of credibility. :) :) :)

Rest assured, Operation Flying Fortresses is gathering steam!!! I'm off to skewer the sacred cows of evolutionism. Sincerely,

All mouth, no trousers

'All mouth, no trousers' is a corruption of 'All mouth and trousers', the original meaning 'they have a big mouth and fancy trousers, but there's nothing behind either of them'. Corruption is likely due to the number of idioms following the "all __ no __" structure. Having said that, the corrupted form is equally prevalent, and can be interpreted differently to also mean the same. :) Kauri0.o (talk) 23:56, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
