The page on Mao says "Mao Zedong was a Chinese Communist and political leader" so I've changed this one to "Chiang Kai-Shek was a Chinese Nationalist and political leader" --101.188.142.231 (talk) 01:00, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Chiang Kai-shek is right to be a very authoritarian politician. While it is true that his rule was also influenced by fascism, it was primarily about strengthening the authoritarian elements of the KMT organization. Has Chiang ever shown a reactionary view on race issues compared to the politicians of his time? It doesn't seem to me that Chiang is particularly racist. Umaru16 (talk) 08:19, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- the article does not give any justification for the racist category and it really should. there is evidence to back up a claim of racism, as the after the kmt retreat to taiwan they did treat the indigenous taiwanese really badly and did much to suppress their native culture in a an attempt to make them more chinese. i dont know chiangs specific views or his actuals words on this subject, but the regime he headed had a very strong racial component resulting oppression racist in its practice.
- should be discussed in the actual article thoughAMassiveGay (talk) 11:01, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- About 2.5% of Taiwan's indigenous people were oppressed by the Japanese Empire or the Qing Dynasty's settler colonialism rather than Chiang. Ethnic Han Taiwanese who lived before 1945 are not indigenous. Han Taiwanese, who lived before 1945, prefer the Democratic Progressive Party, but the real indigenous are politically right-wing. Chiang's White Terror's main target is native Han Taiwanese from pre-1945 who did not speak the Mandarin Chinese language at the time. Britain's oppression of Afrikaner in Africa is not for racial purposes, and mainstream Britons and Afrikaners are of the same race. Umaru16 (talk) 21:01, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
