MSbP[edit]

not alwys on kids. Injection of fæces - not heard that one before. Keepyour headdown 10:21, 21 July 2007 (CDT) Munchausen syndrome is done to one's self. Munchausen syndrome by Proxy is done to one's child. I know a doctor who's first diagnosis was Munchausen's, because the patient's knee contained 7 bacteria found only in stool. Most sites mention milk and gasoline along with feces, but I thought feces was the weirdest. ThunderkatzHo! 10:27, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

Over here (UK) we've had cases where nurses have maltreated elderly patients & been found to have MSbP. Sorry no refs - will google if you want. Keepyour headdown 10:33, 21 July 2007 (CDT)
Sorry, didn't realize that's what you meant. That's probably possible, but as we're talking about child abuse and not geriatric abuse, it doesn't warrant mentioning in this article. You could start an MS, MSbP article if you want. ThunderkatzHo! 10:38, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

Hm. You're right it is almost always mother/child. I stand corrected. Keepyour head 11:09, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

Religious indoctrination....[edit]

Anyone who doubts that this is child abuse should consider the fact that TEN YEARS after leaving my parent's church, that I was (tormented) raised in, I still have almost weekly nightmares about going to hell for my ebil evilutionist lifestyle. DenaChemistry (talk) 09:54, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Refusal to vaccinate[edit]

Would opting not to vaccinate one's children be listed under the Controversial heading? Rhodoferax (talk) 22:08, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Why controversial and not "actual". you are putting your child's (and frankly, other people's children) health at risk. isn't that abuse?--Sun mowse.pngEn attendant Godot 22:13, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
I was just thinking that there's a lot of people who, for whatever reason, think it's better to not have their kids vaccinated (like my aunt, who inspired me to raise this point when I discovered she hadn't vaccinated her kids against whooping cough. Oh, and she then treated them with homeopathy, but that's a whole other story), and I don't think lack of vaccination is legally considered to be a form of abuse in any country. Hence, controversial.
Note that I am obviously not including kids who have an allergic or otherwise adverse reaction to vaccination; in those cases, non-vaccination is entirely sensible and reasonable. Rhodoferax (talk) 18:20, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

"Atheistic" mythology[edit]

What the fuck is an "'atheistic' mythology"? Damn conservatives and their false balance!

New section on things "claimed to be child abuse" but are in fact totally not?[edit]

Bringing this to all of you's attention because Texas, in its dumbfuckery, is trying to define supporting gender-affirming medical care in youth as child abuse, which is deliberately incorrect and extremely dangerous. Celeste (talk) 10:58, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Methods to stop/ avoid emotional abuse?[edit]

As I live in Australia, emotional abuse is more complicated and technically not illegal until it gets physical, any idea on how to avoid/ prevent it? --Korris9 (talk) 22:35, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
