Cannot scam a honest person?[edit]

What about something like fake charity, that exploits compassion, or a phonecall, mentioned in the article, when the mark is convinced they're doing the right thing? Or is this a matter of definition, and there's a different term?--5.128.33.17 (talk) 22:22, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Naming of the page[edit]

This page is only called "confidence trick" because that's what Wikipedia used to call their page on scams. Barely anyone calls scams confidence tricks. Our categories call them scams. Wikipedia calls them scams. It needs to be changed but I just wanted to make sure it's not unexpected. PLMMJ (talk) 05:10, 6 July 2025 (UTC)

  • Apparently regular users cannot move pages on this site. Welp, need someone with permissions to do it because the term confidence trick is barely used and unlikely to be recognized alongside the above issues. PLMMJ (talk) 05:14, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
