Talk:Diquis spheres
I think Erich von Daniken cited these in one of his earlier fraudulent flights of fancy but I can't find the reference and can't face re-reading. Anybody know which book it might be? Helen 17:34, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

I wonder if these stones might have been similar to Rai stones?[edit]
I wonder if the Diquis spheres might have been used as “money” in a way similar to the Rai stones of Micronesia (Palau and Guam)? That would probably attest for the great investment in time in creating them. Of course, given that the Diquis culture has disappeared, it will probably be impossible to either confirm or reject this hypothesis, but I was struck by the possibility and Rai stones also come in very varied sizes, though they are circular discs with a hole in the middle, rather than spheres.
