"Accusing others of something you are guilty of yourself is known as psychological projection." Not sure if this is an appropriate comment to make at that location in the article, and I suspect the implication is inaccurate. Projection occurs as a denial mechanism in a person who is aware, or at least afraid, that they exhibit a negative trait as well. Selection bias is a universal cognitive defect; it seems a stretch to claim that accusing someone of it while being guilty of it oneself amounts to projection when one could easily merely be ignorant, dishonest, or ambivalent. E.G. if I accuse someone of breathing, the fact that I'm also breathing doesn't mean that I'm projecting.

Anyway, in the situation where the comment appears it would seem more likely to me that the producers are either dishonest or ambivalent rather than exhibiting any psychological defense mechanisms.— Unsigned, by: 4.31.199.226 / talk / contribs
