Do we have nothing else to say about the man beyond the funny picture? He was president for almost eight years, for crying out loud. Wehpudicabok [話] [変] 07:43, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- I'm starting to wonder how many articles about historical politicians we actually need. I think we don't need to say much about politicians whose policies and legacy isn't part of present day political debate. For instance Eisenhower is still cited as an example of a moderate republican. Is anything similar done with Truman? SophieWilder 08:35, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I'd imagine that the decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan would count as relevant; I still hear people debating that today, regarding both the intrinsic morality of the decision and its repercussions in the Cold War. I do agree that historical figures are only on-mission if they're part of current debate. Wehpudicabok [話] [変] 08:50, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Seconding Wehpudicabok's opinion. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 08:51, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- We already have Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki which is fairly good on covering the morality of the bombings. SophieWilder 09:21, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, that is a good point. I guess we can write on that page, and if other topics about Truman come up over time, we can give him an article then. Wehpudicabok [話] [変] 07:22, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

- Tried to veto the Taft–Hartley Act, advocated for universal health care, Executive Order 9981, the Marshall Plan/Berlin airlift, the formation of Israel, the firing of McArthur (sparking debate on civilian control of the military)... Osaka Sun (talk) 07:35, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- Damn you, Osaka, for refuting my position. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 07:45, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
