Talk:I Ching
Hey[edit]
Do you think it's necessary to specify on the method used in I Ching? Just so that you guys can make some sort of analysis on it? Just to ask.— Unsigned, by: Webshite Hunter / talk / contribs

Regarding Mao[edit]
Regarding the Mao section under Notable users. I had originally deleted it as the source provided did not substantiate the claim that Mao either used the I Ching or had been said to have used the I Ching and I had not found any source to substantiate said claim. It has since been edited back with changes. I followed the new source (The Philosophical Influences of Mao Zedong) and looked for substantiation of the above claims. I have yet to find them. The only instances in which the I Ching (yijing in the book) is mentioned is the author's observing of parallels between the changes of the I Ching and the dialectical movement in some later works by Mao. Such claims of the author notably stick to observed parallels and not outright claims of direct influence of the I Ching on Mao's thought nor usage of the I Ching by Mao. Given this we appear again to have no sources to substantiate the claims that Mao used the I Ching, Mao had been said to use the I Ching, nor that the I Ching inspired Mao's writing (important to note again observed parallels by a third party is not a claim of direct influence, nor inspiration). Given this, it could possibly instead read: "parallels have been noted between the dialectics of Mao's later works and the changes of the I Ching" but such a thing would be trivial for the Notable Users section as it lacks any known usage, and hence is not appropriate for the Notable Users section and in turn not pertinent to the I Ching page.
Given this, I'm going to again delete the section. If a source is found substantiating the initial claims we can bring it back with the correct referencing. As of yet though I have not found nor been shown such a source and the section such then be omitted. Awayt225 (talk) 08:09, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
