2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Talk:Ionocraft

Just an observation... the acronym "UFO" simply means "Unidentified Flying Object". The current text seems to equate it to extraterrestrials by talking about the vacuum of outer space. If ionocraft can be improved and mastered, there are going to be a lot more UFOs flying around our atmosphere. Cheers! :) — Unsigned, by: 70.41.197.14 / talk / contribs 06:48, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Getting more likely[edit]

This isn't nearly as stupid as it was a few years back. Just saying that with modern tech, this kind of thing is becoming more feasible. MIT made a glider version that is propelled by ions and uses normal wings for lift. In theory this could be scaled up eventually. — Dysk (contribs) 13:50, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Tin foil hats[edit]

Can 'some Funspace mumbo jumbo' be developed to combine tin foil hats and ionocrafts? Anna Livia (talk) 09:58, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
