2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

45th latitude[edit]

Cities which are pretty much *dead on* the 45th latitude: Minneapolis (MI), Krasnodar (Russia), Mudanjiang (China) Cities that are fairly close (certainly a lot closer than NYC): Boston (MA), Toronto (Canada), Bucharest (Romania), Vladivostok (Russia), Sapporo (Japan). Based on a quick WP glance, they're all new since Nostradamus' time. IIRC the same verse was used to describe another event (a great fire in Boston or Chicago). Yep. If not more. And even funnier, John Hogue would certainly hope that people confuse the state of New York with New York City. A sliver of the 45th latitude passes the utmost northern part of the state of New York before cutting straight into Canada. New York City is south of that by a serious magnitude. Hogue never ceases to amaze. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 02:45, 17 October 2015 (UTC)

Self-described rogue scholars[edit]

How often are they recognised as scholars by others? Anna Livia (talk) 16:38, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
