Hey, why do[edit]
John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney have articles but George Harrison and Ringo Starr do not? Where's George and Ringo??? Articles on George and Ringo NOW!! — Unsigned, by: NEED VICODIN NOW / talk / contribs
- George and Ringo are cool people, not on mission. John, and especially, Paul are censoring pricks. Or at least their widows are. ħuman 02:56, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- I saw Sir Paul in concert in Los Angeles and he was alive. I don't think he has any widows yet. Jerry 03:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- Paul is dead! I buried him! 201.215.122.10 (talk) 00:06, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Tone[edit]
Does anyone else think that the tone of this article is kinda, well, harsh? -- Seth Peck (talk) 23:56, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- He was, kinda, well, a dick some of the time. Read the RS interviews, they have brutal moments in them. And we don't really do hagiography. PintOfStout Talk Good people drink good beer. 23:58, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think my issue is that, despite that, he had a profound impact on music and culture in the 1960s/1970s, in England, the United States, and elsewhere (even East Germany and the Soviet Union), making him a bit of a revolutionary figure (not in the same regards as, say, Abbie Hoffman, but certainly in some regard). The song Imagine is so profound it's practically RationalWiki's theme song. He (and the Beatles) challenged the establishment, were under fire from religious groups even BEFORE the bigger-than-Jesus comment, brought Ravi Shankar into the world conversation, and ultimately was very impactful...and this article doesn't really talk about any of that. -- Seth Peck (talk) 00:10, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- And, to draw another point, the corresponding CP article seems downright objective compared to what we have. -- Seth Peck (talk) 00:13, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- We don't do objective. We do SPOV. But go ahead and edit the fuckin' thing instead of bitchin' about it, why don't you? PintOfStout Talk Good people drink good beer. 00:17, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Kinda my point. It's not even snarky. It's just mean. I'll see what I can do. -- Seth Peck (talk) 00:19, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- I took out all the damn parens. I think people get this idea that a certain style joke is "funny", but it quickly just loses my flavor.GodotI live in the Infinite monkey cage 00:22, 21 December 2011 (UTC) (edit con)

Lennon Assassination[edit]
From what I recall, Chapman didn't shoot him over his "bigger than Jesus" comment. I'm not sure why he did, but at the time he was obsessed with the book Catcher in the Rye, and thought of himself as Holden Caulfield, the main character. Only after he'd gone to prison did he become a Christian. Mcc1789 (talk) 08:30, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
Anti-Semitic and a homophobic?[edit]
According to Wikipedia:
Lennon delighted in mocking Epstein for his homosexuality and for the fact that he was Jewish. When Epstein invited suggestions for the title of his autobiography, Lennon offered Queer Jew; on learning of the eventual title, A Cellarful of Noise, he parodied, "More like A Cellarful of Boys".
According to Smoloko News, Lennon once said "Show business is an extension of the Jewish religion", however I couldn't find any solid evidence for this.—127.0.0.1 (talk • stalk) 23:04, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
