Ah...didn't think about that. I just saw this on the list of "requested articles". I'll go through, change the links to this, and delete/merge the articles. Researcher 16:40, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Seriously, what the fuck[edit]

Unsubstantiated accusations of racism? "...likely he is [...] xenophobic" because he doesn't like immigration? Are the other editors of this article 12 years old? Webbtje (talk) 19:22, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Wait, Pat "white people made this country" Buchanan not racist? Sure... Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 19:51, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Hey, Pat "equal justice under law" Buchanan? Seriously, the guy's old-fashioned and arguably deluded, but summing him up - as this article does - as some one-issue ranting, racist xenophobe is at best a gross over-simplification and at worst a smear. Webbtje (talk) 22:26, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Not to mention fun little statements like "his anti-immigration policies make it seem more likely he is just xenophobic". That's great, that. People who don't like immigration = xenophobes. Srsly. Webbtje (talk) 22:34, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
So claiming not to be racist excuses racism? You're right, it's unfair -- he's an all-around bigot (check out what he's said about gays and women, for instance). Dude has written apologias for racist regimes from the Confederacy to the Nazis and has ties with various white supremacist organizations and figures. You could fill a list miles long with all of the bigoted statements he's made. Even other figures on the far-right think he makes them look bad. And he's barely more than a one-issue guy -- most of what talks about is economic protectionism, isolationism, and "culture wars" stuff -- basically rebuilding a Leave it to Beaver America. His bigotry is not really a mystery. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 23:14, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

"Consistent anti-war advocate"[edit]

Unfortunately, many racists have been "consistently" anti-war because it goes against their ideas of confederal government. For example, David Duke is anti-war. I think it does real humanitarians like Noam Chomsky and Ralph Nader a disservice by lumping them in the same category as racists like Buchanan and Paul. So that section should be revised or removed. He should libel this PoS site for this unproven shitty accusations. -RationalWanker — Unsigned, by: 83.30.136.236 / talk / contribs 20:53, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Very unfair to accuse Buchanan of being anti-war just to save American lives. He has always opposed these wars on moral grounds, often asking what right America had to interfere in other nations' affairs.

Back in the 90's he would often speak out against the US sanctions against Iraq when all the left were in favor of it. If it was all just for American lives, why would it matter to him then?— Unsigned, by: 71.119.37.222 / talk / contribs
