2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Talk:Pole shift

From RationalWiki

Can someone explain the difference between "pole shift" and "geomagnetic reversal"? Wiki says they're the same thing. It seems like we're using pole shift to mean only "2012-style crankery," while it does have a scientific and a crank use. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 22:07, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Flip flop not[edit]

And how high in the list of 'longest gaps between talk-page comments' does this one rank? Anna Livia (talk) 10:01, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
