Please remove the cult description[edit]

Can someone please remove the cult description. Replace it with anything but the "cult" description. Thanks. 89.243.169.171 (talk) 22:56, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

It's kinda hard when it nicely fits the description of a cult. Even if they claim not to be one, how many cults actually do profess to being a cult? ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?? Sam Tally-ho! 23:01, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
On their official website they specifically claim they are NOT a cult. They also specificlly claim they are a religion. (see http://www.rael.org/faq) 78.146.98.164 (talk) 18:11, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Please find us one group that claims to be a cult, and then we'll talk. Theory of Practice Still tryin' to figure it all out. 18:13, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
The distinction between a cult and religion is only one of size and political power. — Unsigned, by: ORavenhurst / talkDo You Believe That? 18:29, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Not really, but thanks for that. Theory of Practice Still tryin' to figure it all out. 18:51, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

What exactly is a "sex cult"? I don't care if you call Raelism a cult but to call it a "sex cult" in the first line seems a little excessive (if the intention was to be funny/offensive). — Haamer 13:22, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Religions are cults, and cults are religions, by definition from Latin religio(n-) 'obligation, bond, reverence', perhaps based on Latin religare 'to bind' which is the same as a club or social group, which now is defined with the idea of a god or supreme power , or a faith. The perception of religion vs cults is religions are perceived to be mainstream, whereas cults are alternative. From this due to the failure or unsuccessfulness of new religions such as the Heaven's Gate for example, general perception of cults tend to be negative, whereas religions tend to be positive. Islam for example has its similarities with Heaven's gate e.g.: social suicide but is considered a religion due to mainstream acceptance and not a cult, but the truth is religion and cult are the same thing by definition , e.g. even the word culture contains "cult". Also a successful movie that attracted a lot of fans and produced movie franchise such as Star Wars, Star trek etc.. is known as a cult film. The mentioning of cult is a perception of viewpoint of the organisation. In unrelated news...[edit]

The "Estonian" version of rael.org seems to explicitly call Rael a "racist" (...specifically, a "racist car driver"). That's what you get for using Google Translate. Should I tell them? — Haamer 15:11, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Genesis 1:1[edit]

In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1 The alien claimed that "Elohim" does not mean "God", but "Those who came from the sky" and that "created" really means "discovered".

The actual translation is not that the Elohim created the heavens and the earth, It is actually :“In the beginning Elohim dispatched Aleph-Tav” which has nothing to do with creating heaven and earth, but more about transporting alphabet/"from A to Z in hebrew" code(possible connectionbetween the amino acids and the 22 Hebrew letters alphabet) to and from the heavens and the earth.
