Perhaps I'm the only one who thought it, but I always got the impression that there was a subtle message to the conservative insistence on the term "republic", in the sense that it suggests that "Republicans" are the only valid political party for our system. I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into it. But that's how it always strikes me.Pere Ubu (talk) 16:00, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
