Name inspired by the Danish organisation?[edit]

It would appear that the “Stop Islamisation of [insert area]” moniker originated in Denmark with SIAD (Stop Islamisation of DenmarkWikipedia), an organisation that apparently originated as a 2005 splinter group of the xenophobic Danish Association (“Den Danske Forening” – Danish Wikipedia link). The latter goes back to 1987 and several of its former members subsequently became prominent within the Danish People's Party. However, while the Danish SIAD still exists, the Norwegian SIAN seems to be the bigger one at the moment, while the SIAD is simply one among the many squabbling small extreme right wing groups in Denmark (think of these as unfunny, real world, wingnut versions of Monty Python’s Judean People’s FrontWikipedia satire}).

As in Norway, however, SIAD is part of a network of online/offline right wingers that also attempted a Danish/Norwegian common effort around 2016 by creating a Danish sister site to the Norwegian Document.no (simply named Document.dk), an effort headed by Danish right wing blogger Kim Møller, who runs Uriasposten, probably the most prominent of the extremist right wing online outlets in Denmark. Thanks, seems most likely. A lot of these groups cross the Skagerrak, in the case of Med Israel For Fred going the other way. I eventually hope to chronicle more of these organizations and their ties and histories, but in the meantime will add in the likely origins with the Danish group. Burning of the Quran[edit]

Adding that they burned the Quran in Kristiansand might be a good idea.--Deli-delibirda! (talk) 08:16, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
