Talk:Socrates
Martyrs for Skepticism that pre-date Socrates[edit]
Can anyone think of a historical figure that was killed or persecuted for skepticism before Socrates? I wanted to expand on that issue to make the page more relevant to RW's mission, but i want to be careful before making the assertion that Socrates could be considered the first (at least for a known historical figure). I feel like i'm not thinking of some obvious examples. Petey Plane (talk) 16:39, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
- Not precisely what you're after (I don't think), but, how about Hippasus, allegedly drowned by his fellow Pythagoreans? http://www.storyofmathematics.com/greek_pythagoras.html --Scherben (talk) 18:50, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
