Nazi bombardments really the same as allied bombardments?[edit]

Guernica was militarily worthless and the stated aim of the attack (a minor bridge) was not in fact hit. Rotterdam (which is not even mentioned) was attacked after the Dutch had already surrendered and finally the rocket attacks on London (and later Antwerp) were outright stated by the Nazis to be primarily terror in nature... Bashing the US is nice and well, but if the facts don't support it, I am disinclined to do so... Yes the Western Allies did not fight a "clean" war, but that does not mean they were as bad as the Nazis. Not even on the Western Front... The Nazis were way, way worse... That they weren't as bad as the Nazis doesn't mean they can't still be criticized. Stating that both sides committed acts of state terrorism doesn't mean they were doing it at a quantitatively and/or qualitatively equal rate. 141.134.75.236 (talk) 00:06, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
Well the way it is currently formulated it seems as if the allied bombings were equal or even worse than the Nazi bombings... Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 00:17, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
Not really. Mentioned more often ≠ did more and/or worse stuff, especially in an incomplete list. For one, while people are well aware the Nazis and the Soviets committed various atrocities, they tend to be far less aware of bad stuff done by forces that are generally known as "the good guys", so there's more reason to bring up the latter in an RW article on this sorta stuff. If that unbalance troubles you, though, feel free to add some more on bad stuff the Nazis and the Soviets did. (Be mindful that the balance fallacy is, well, a fallacy, though.) 141.134.75.236 (talk) 00:42, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

My intention certainly was not to claim the Allies were as bad as the Axis. It's just some examples that proponents of the idea use which were more well-known. The atrocities committed by the Soviet Union and so on are also mentioned. Mcc1789 (talk) 00:32, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
Well the Soviets certainly conducted a less "clean" war thaen the Western allies. And Japan and Germany conducted a dirtier war still. That of course does not mean the Western allies conducted an entirely "clean" war. I guess such a thing is a hypothetical concept to begin with... Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 00:43, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
I don't dispute any of that. Mcc1789 (talk) 07:05, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
