Talk:Tony Judt
Not that I particularly disagree with notching down the Zionist rhetoric (I'm relatively pro Israel given my country of origin and social class - middle class college boy) but I don't think there is much point in downplaying the pervasiveness and influence of the Israeli lobby in US politics. - Maybe there is maybe there is not, I actually don't have personal knowledge to that effect. Lines like "much to the chagrin of the powerful American Zionist lobby" call out for specifics and a source. If it could be rewritten as "much to the chagrin of 'x' and other powerful American lobbiests and Zionists" it would read more convincingly. tmtoulouse 22:57, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- I prefer your edits to the article, the references to zionists everywhere does seem a tad strange and is usually one of the things that most annoys me about left wing opinion writers. MarcusCicero (talk) 22:59, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
edits[edit]
I removed most of the refs, as they were biased without anything to back them up (naturally, on RationalWiki we have a pro-science bias, so to speak, but this was unadulterated opinion. This read more like an inside cover author biography than anything else. Apparently MarcusCicero is a big fan of this guy. Also, Postwar may have been nominated for the Pulitzer and Samuel Johnson prizes, but it didn't win them. It did win the Arthur Ross Book Award, segun Wikipedia.--"Shut up, Brx." 14:52, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
