Why can't[edit]
Why can't we have a Mongolia article AND a page on Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj? It's not like we should delete Cameron and stick him under the page on Britain. He's a strong advocate of democracy, anti-authoritarianism and environmentalism based on science so I think he's relevant to the mission. ClothCoat (talk) 20:36, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'm a strong advocate of democracy, anti-authoritarianism and environmentalism, so by your definition i deserve my own article. He on his own isn't important enough to have an article any more than most national leaders.--Miekal 20:41, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- All national leaders are important evoungh to have an article since thet will virtually always be related to our mission statements. You are not a national leader. Besides we have an article on French leaders instead of just sticking them under "France", and presidents of America, and prime ministers of Britain, and Nelson Mandela has his own page as does leaders of China, so why not Mongolia? - British prime ministers, french and american presidents, "leaders of china" all influence the world and have a noticeable and immediate impact on the world. Mandela is tied up into ending the idea that jim crow in africa itself was a good idea. I don't see them comparing to the leader of mongolia, a country that hasn't been important for several centuries and whom, outside mongolia, has no real importance or influence.--Miekal 00:32, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- Ok well if that's your position at least wait until somebody actually writes an article on Mongolia before deleting. Some information is better than none. And Mongolia isn't important? Really? As the home of at least 2.8 million and one of the few countries in its territories that works more closely with NATO than the SCO I think it's a somewhat important country, as all countries with such a large land mass usually are. - 2.8 million, surrounded by two superpowers, home of mostly nomads and a few big cities. Who, til the fall of the soviets, spent its time as a satellite of russia and before that a part of china. Yah, so much importance.--Miekal 04:26, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- You're kind of a dick you know that? Anyways if anything the fact that it's inbetween two superpowers makes it more important. I don't see the harm in having a page on either the country or the guy who runs this country considering they are still involved in the UN and this president is greatly admired and respected across the political spectrum giving him some influence in international affairs, especially since he's taken so many steps to combat global warming.
