Merger[edit]
Perhaps this should be merged into our Korean War article. Carthage (talk) 04:39, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- The U.S. has devastated North Korea so much. Therefore, the major wiki in South Korea also separates the articles of the Korean [June 25] War (6.25 전쟁 or 한국전쟁) from the articles of The bombing of the U.S. troops during the Korean War (한국전쟁기 미군의 폭격). Umaru16 (talk) 05:12, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Koreans remember war crimes committed by Americans. However, South Koreans are only not well known because of their high pro-U.S. sentiment due to North Korea's military provocations, nuclear development, and threats from China. North Korea's anti-American sentiment is not encouraged by the North Korean government, but is deeply rooted by the North Korean people. Umaru16 (talk) 05:17, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not saying you're wrong. The US did major war crimes during the war, but they don't get focused on cuz it inconveniences the UN narrative about the Korean War. The South also violently suppressed leftist sentiment in the South with American approval. Carthage (talk) 05:21, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think Rational Wiki should be fair without racial prejudice. Many American war crimes are known in South Korea. In particular, it is necessary to consider that the number of bombs used by the United States during the Korean War is more than that used by the United States during the Pacific War, and that unlike the Pacific War, the Korean War was used for bombing civilian areas, not the sea. In particular, there is an article titled "Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki", but it is unfair that there is no article called "United States war crimes in the Korean War." If North Korea had been an ally of the United States, it would have been known to Americans much more seriously than Hiroshima and Nagasaki. (Even Hiroshima and Nagasaki are controversial whether or not they were strategically necessary, but the U.S. massacre of North Korean civilians is an undeniable war crime.)
