Talk:Unverifiable personal gnosis
Durga[edit]
I removed the bit that said Durga being a caring figure of love is completely at odds with culture in the pantheon, which is completely false. She is portrayed as a loving mother goddess even in her capacity as a fierce warrior. It would even not be a stretch to say that Kali is also a loving goddess.
Reach out and touch faith[edit]
This sounds nearly identical to members of certain Protestant churches who say they have a personal relationship with Jesus, e.g., "I know in my heart this is what Jesus wants me to do", "Only God can judge me for my opinions", etc. This is the sort of of self-rationalization that allows Christians to justify any number of prejudices or crimes, not that neopagans are inherently doing this (although there's nothing saying they couldn't). Question about UPG[edit]
Basically, does this mean that if I have a vision (dream or whatever) of, say, a red-headed woman who wears revealing clothes (and few of them, showing a lot of curves) and moves in a sensual way, and claim she's for example Hestia is such goddess because I say so even if the mythological Hestia was very different?
