Talk:Uruguay

Where's the source come from claiming Mujica is pro-Israel? All I could find was an article where the Israeli diplomat to Uruguay was aggravated by Mujica calling Israeli military actions in the Gaza zone 'genocide' (https://en.mercopress.com/2014/08/06/israel-disturbed-with-mujica-s-use-of-genocide-to-describe-the-situation-in-gaza) and an article where an MP of the Frente Amplio political party (same one as Mujica's) says he disagrees with Mujica on the former. -Clunk

Seems weird. It maybe means that Mujica wasn't anti-Semitic, unlike Stroessner and other dictators in the region (although Stroessner managed to combine anti-semitism and persecution of Jews at home with pro-Israel policies abroad, as long as Israel sold him arms). But although they're often confused, antisemitism isn't the same as anti-Israel, or vice versa. I think it should be removed. --Annanoon (talk) 11:47, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
