Venetic as Italic[edit]
Since the inclusion of Venetic in Italic is a matter of dispute (there are many linguists who consider it a separate branch of Indo-European, albeit, perhaps, closely related to Italic), we should probably change this in the article accordingly. Petusek (talk) 02:57, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
National origin[edit]
I would like to take issue with this statement: "Italians may be descendants of Romans, but they aren't Romans. Modern Greeks may be descendants of the ancient Greeks, but they aren't ancient Greeks." During approx. 2000 years I imagine a lot of intermarrying would have taken place, so that modern Greeks are not necessarily the descendants of ancient Greeks.--Кřěĵ (ṫåɬк) 14:32, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
I suppose this article was written by a Serb?[edit]
I see no other explanation. So much hatred against Slovenian nation... can come only from asses of Serbians and Commies. You are also writing about "archeological proofs". There aren't any. According to RECENT archeological excavations, there are indications that people who arrived to Slovenia started arriving already in 1. century AD. Besides of that FACT (which is totally ignored here any elsewhere, this information rather remains in the circles of archeologists whom i know personally) the Y DNA haplogroup N which belonged to Avars (Jews, Turks) was never found among Slovenes. Second proof if the fact there was no "major" migration or no migration at all (no major archeological discoveries about "Slavs" in 6th century AD). — Unsigned, by: 89.142.139.205 / talk / contribs
- How exactly is the opposition to the claim of Slovenian culture developing independently of other Slavic groups racial propaganda? Based on the Wikipedia article's talkpage, Slovene nationalists call it out as racist without explaining why it is so. Regardless of that, your apparent proof of its accuracy is the claims of archaeologists who aren't agreed upon by the wider archaeological circle, who probably aren't all Slavic.-- Forerunner (talk) 12:24, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
