2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Template:Sock/doc

From RationalWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This template should only be used in the following circumstances:

  • Sockpuppet accounts of existing editors.
  • Sockpuppet accounts of banned editors, but only if their behavior makes it not immediately obvious who they are. If they are ban evading, then instead mention their account in the ban log. Trolls who mass register alts to seek attention should never have this template applied to them.

Usage

There are two variations of this template:

The simplest one is just {{sock|Test}} which will output the following:

Sock puppet.jpg This user is an announced sockpuppet of Test

Alternately, if the user has been banned, you can declare this with {{sock|Test|banned=yes}}, which will change the image and add a notice that they got banned.

Stop x nuvola.svg This user is an announced sockpuppet of, and is banned from the wiki along with, Test
