Template talk:Re
Parameter 2 and 3[edit]
Hey Fuzzy, I saw you wanted to edit in parameters 2 and 3. I have no objection to adding things, but your take broke the colours. I assume from the diff the culprit is the "|" you added (or missed) in one parameter. Can you explain what you try to do? I'm open to expanding this, as long as the basics remain really simple. ~ Aneris ✻ 05:28, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- It'd let you either use "indent=X" or "2=X" as a parameter, so that {{re|Lol|5}} would work (etc. For color). Cømяade FυzzчCαтPøтαтø (talk/stalk) 16:14, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- Ah! The wiki seems to be using anyay a mathy expansion that does this selection thing. It's probably also possible to simplify the code for the indent that way, i.e. "X*5=Y" →Ypx. In other words, instead of giving a list of possible parameters (1—9), it would work with a formula that multiplies the number times 5px (which can be tweaked later to make it fit the current indenting). I've seen that this works. But I see old habits die hard, as we comment in the old way again. Maybe making it compatible with old commenting would be a way to go too (adjusting the indent so that it matches the corresponding number of :::::s ~ Aneris ✻ 16:24, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
