Ohhhh. editing AS a bot, not actually writing a bot.

sure, i'd love that. then i'd not clutter everyone's wall with minor changes.

You now have it. Like Ty said, just remember to de-bot yourself when you're done.

Ok, walk me through this (stupid as it is), i go in to change my user rights?

Go to Special:UserRights, type in your username, check the box next to "bot." When you're done, uncheck it.

last question, (and thanks), can i still talk on pages, or do i need to turn it off before?

Pink mowse.pngGodotThe Peyote God awaits21:16, 25 September 2011

Nope, talk page edits will still appear as bot edits. There's a handy gadget you can enable in your preferences called BotWarn, that throws up a big warning if you try to edit a talk page while a bot.

Thanks, and done. :-)

If you are botted, you will still show up normally on LQT for the recipient and new massages.

by the way, what does "ninja" mean/do?

Pink mowse.pngGodotThe Peyote God awaits21:19, 25 September 2011

That's what it is called in MediaWiki's tutorial for user rights.
