Misogynistic women

Jump to: navigation, search

That's possible, but I don't think it's quite the same thing. And certainly they're playing too fast and loose with how such statements are going to be interpreted.

My point is that the misogynistic *****s holding signs claiming to regret abortion a just misogynistic ****ing liars.

What's your evidence for that? Some women regret having an abortion.

SophieWilderModerator17:13, 28 July 2013

The fact that I find their claim highly doubtful that so many women are regretting abortion.

Of course, maybe there are with misogynistic indoctrination.

You just made two separate claims: 1) The women claiming they regret their abortions are fucking liars. - this is nonsense, lots of women regret their abortions, especially in today's climate, where they are punished endlessly. 2) The claim that "many women regret their abortions" is in fact disprovable. Statistically most women do NOT regret their abortion 3 months, 5 years, and 10 years after per several short and long term studies.

For feminists, "anti women" women like Schafley, Palin and Bachman are a conundrum because by the very core of what is feminism, they ARE feminists. They are active women, who have found their own voice, and have pushed into the world despite sterotypes, to effect change in the world. And in the case of women like Palin and Bachmann, they are in teh highest places of government.

At the same time, they spend every thought, advocating against women and even their own success.

I won't be pulled into an anti-women screed, just because the woman advocates something i despise. I'll still just go into a anti-conservative, anti "position" screed.

Again with the misogynistic *****s? Seriously, what word is that? I'm hoping it's not "misogynistic whores" because that would involve some rather obvious dissonance, but I'm struggling to think of other five-letter expletives that would fit here. Anyway, RW talk pages have no obligation to be family friendly so you don't need to self-censor. Or if you do feel uncomfortable writing a word, you could try not to keep using it so much.

I prefer to self censor except in extreme cases.

Александр(а) (Talk | Contribs | Ragebox)18:21, 28 July 2013

Then you leave it up to other people to guess what you are saying.

Self censoring is one of the stupidest things I can imagine. If you don't like a word, don't use it. find somethign else suitable.

It's not like "self censorning' has kept you from thinking the word.

anyhow, my page is fine with bitch, cunt, peckerwood, fucker, god for it.

or find some non curse word.

ADK - I think you know my view on this very specific point. I appreciate every person's voice in support of women's rights, but there is something odd about listening to men on either side, talking about the hardships of abortion, the importance of pregnancy, etc. In most cases, it's done in good faith, and appreciated- but it still feels like being talked about, instead of talked *to*.

I suspect that's similar to feelings felt during the post Martin/zimmerman trial - a lot of people talking about racism. A lot of people getting that something is very wrong, but the articulation of the problem by people like me, safe in our white middle class world, feels stilted.

But that's the way it is. better stilted than not at all :-)
