Hyperbole
What about emotional manipulation? When a man does it, it can be called spousal abuse, but when a man complains about women doing it, he is generally a misogynist.
I think that is slowly changing, but you are right. I think women do know how to, and do not hesitate to use emotional manipulation to get what they want. Especially passive aggressive behaviors, "selling" of their sexual favors in the couple's bedroom in exchange for whatever they desire at the point, and yes, crying. I hate crying women. not women who cry when things are hard, or sad, or loney... but women who use tears to get men's pity. And i think you are also right that there is a larger stigma to saying "i'm being abused by my wife", then "i'm being abused by my husband". on the other hand, were emotional manipulation is concerned (and IF there are no kids) I hold both adults responsible. ie., if they suck as a partner, leave. and leave now, before there ARE kids. (if there are kids, well, that's a different battle i cannot speak to).
