2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

EZ water[edit]

Experiments[edit]

Pollack, who leads a research group at University of Washington and has contributed to a textbook, asserts that the experiments are evidence of a zone of ordered water that forms at surfaces.

Contrary to what Pollack implies, there are extensive research programs on the structure of water, water at interface and water in biological system.

No such structure is predicted.

The experiments were replicated by multiple independent groups, though the exclusion zone theory receives little agreement. Other hypotheses are put forward. It seems to be a mix of phenomena depending on situation and setup, with some not definitely explained.

So far, motivated but carefully documented experiments, missing some possible explanations, and perhaps holding on to one's pet hypothesis a bit stubbornly is within the realm of legitimate science. Nobody's perfect and this creates the basis for discussion. On the other hand, ...

Multiple websites describe EZ water as a cure-all. https://absolutehealth.com/ez-water/

Pollack has written a book “The Fourth Phase of Water Beyond Solid, Liquid and Vapor”.
