Reason I am leaving[edit]

First, it doesn't have to do with Kels. But I do apologize to Kels and any other homosexual/bisexual or any others who were offended by the same gender union talk page debates.

But I am leaving because I did not obtain my sysopship, it is too difficult to argue with so many liberals, and in the end, while fun, participating on this wiki is not all that prodcutive for my goals. Invite me back after you find some other conservatives.

Meanwhile, peace, we are all sinners, but we are all offered sanctification in the name of Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit. I encourage others to read the Bible (not books about the Bible, neither apologetics nor criticisms, but the Bible itself) and judge not God by the acts of men, but by the saving grace our creator has offered us. Men corrupt, but God offers us grace. HeartGold tx 07:10, 1 June 2007 (CDT)

1JN 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives
Well, I'm sorry if I played a part in your leaving. I feel better this morning, and in all likelihood my troubles last night weren't much of anything to do with you directly. Here, I found this, it might either confuse you or give you a giggle. I'm not really sure what's so important about being a sysop here, but if it bothers you, then by all means follow your, uh, heart. --Kels 07:14, 1 June 2007 (CDT)

Sorry to see you go. If you can recruit a few others to work on your xtian worldview project, c'mon back and get it started.DocSock 07:20, 1 June 2007 (CDT)

Shame to see you leaving us, it would be nice if there were more like you here to engage in healthy debate. Good luck with your other project, hope it works out. Trashbat 07:22, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
Okay, I won't leave. You guys have me all choked up. HeartGold tx 21:09, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

"Throwing hissy fit over sysopship."[edit]

Gee, HG, shame to see you go - but how come you haven't asked around as to what might be going on regarding increasing your responsibilities here? Keep in mind that only one or two people have the ability to make that change (whatever the mob itself decides), and at least one of them is away with family right now.

We are finally seeing some "outside" wandalism, and I'm sure the "workload" of monitoring namespaces and fixing vandalism will be building soon as the site "grows" ("this site is growing fast!"). And then more hands on deck would probably be a "good thing". I know your motives are good (for the site), it's not power you want, it's experience.

Anyway, if you do leave (and I guess I wouldn't blame you, you kind of have the whole right half of the field to yourself here right now), I wish you well with your Christian wiki project (I guess I never got around to trying to type out some constructive thoughts about it - will you still be checking in once in a while?), and life in general.

If you decide to stay for a bit longer, do keep tabs on when Tmtoulouse and ColinR are around (not sure if anyone else has the admin ability to demote to sysop), and keep all who have participated in the RFS thing apprised of your thoughts regarding your desire to take on a bigger workload. Cheers, humanbe in 12:45, 1 June 2007 (CDT)

I concur - please tell us when you set up your Christian wiki, so we can come to wandalise liberalise add constructive information on Greek and Hebrew analysis. --ויִכִּ נתֶּרֶפּרֶתֵּר שְׁלֹום!

Award[edit]

AdamAndSteve2.jpg The Bucket of Cold Water Award
Thanks for throwing a bucket of cold water on these two

Awarded to the Golden One with thanks.
ENJOY!
Display it with pride commrade!

See, now, that is the kind of "in your face" public displays of affection that we need to protect our children from seeing. Always remember, bring a bucket of cold water when you head downtown, or uptown, with your children. HeartGold tx 08:54, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

Haha, that's funny, touchè! But, out of wiki-respect for talk page, shouldn't you add a note that this award replaced one put here by Mrwinkie, with a link to it, at least? It also shows that Mrwinkie's work was, um, very random, to say the least, don't you think? humanbe in 13:45, 2 June 2007 (CDT)
Okay. Official notice: The above award replaced this award by Mrwinkie. HeartGold tx 16:01, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

sysopishismness[edit]

If you remove your "threats" (the hissy fit) I will get you your sysopship (I think I have such power? Yikes!). "We"* want you to stay, but at the same time, do we really want to accede to what looks like blackmail? Make it look prettier (ie, revert your user page to the fun one - see lulz) and I am sure that within days you will be demoted to sysopism. Also, as an ed poor aside, can you create some articles? You have done deep and personal research into vaccines, we aren't a bunch of knee-jerk "vaccines are good" idiots here. We would all like a well-referenced article on the topic, and maybe it would be fun to write?.

  • The powers that be - who are on vacation right now - value the participation of editors who come from a different perspective humanbe in 21:03, 2 June 2007 (CDT)
I thought hissy fits were encouraged. Removed. HeartGold tx 21:05, 2 June 2007 (CDT)
Also, please get the math installed so I can write some articles that require math. I have some original research I'd like to publish. 21:06, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

Heart, thanks for listening. Remember that the two people who can "demote" you are both away right now. I appreciate your listening, that is an example of why I have always supported you - in spite of, obviously huge, political differences. On the math thing, yeah, what is up with that? Bug Linus, I guess? In the meantime, can you write what you want to with the code, and hope? Remmeber, as I said before, most of us read Geek :) humanbe in 21:51, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

contributions lately[edit]

I hope we didn't cross our wires at that conspiracy theory list talk page/article. I've been slowly trying to look at it and make sure each "theory" listed has some level of self-explanation.

I also appreciate your sense of humor - it's a lesson in getting past "some" disagreements for me, but I get to chew on that lesson after sounding like a fool, usually. I appreciate your letting me in on the joke at potsexuality, since it flew right by me... and doing it in a gentle way.

It's a shame we don't have a bit more "political spectrum" here. You're kind of stuck on one end of a see saw with everyone else pretty much on the other end. Makes it hard for "us" as a group to keep things fun for all. We need to dig up a few moderates and some more population along the various conservative axes. It would help us make better articles and to include more viewpoints. Although, I think generally the skeptic POV will always be stronger than the believer one, since that is the site's mission. Of course, other points of view help us all see what we might be "believers" in without noticing. Oh well, c'est la vie. Cheers, humanbe in 01:23, 13 June 2007 (CDT)
