Autopatrolled etc.[edit]
Hi there. You made me autopatrolled recently. I just wanted to do something uncontroversial that I apparently need spcial user rights for. Could you also make me an admin (say temporarily)? Thanks in advance. Elf (talk) 19:16, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
Please don't block accounts just for tripping filter 57 once[edit]
If we wanted everyone who tripped the filter to be banned, we could have that happen automatically. It is very, very easy for a real person to trip it - it only happens so rarely because we don't get many new users.
You may have seen Plutocow do it, but they're a tech, so they can view the edit that the account made and confirm it was spam. Christopher (talk) 16:59, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Banning accounts that try to create articles titled something like "Top 10 Finest Italian Vegetarian Corner Close To You." is obviously ok, but not when they only try to create their userpage like the last two you banned. Christopher (talk) 17:03, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I didn’t ban the account you mentioned above. I’m not sure about the last two accounts, but yes, I mostly block/ban accounts flagged as Blackhat SEO/Spam, just like every other non-tech sysop does. By the way, thanks for notifying me. I’ll wait and let them engage in vandalism first before blocking. — Lunar|✉ 18:22, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
