I have made a miraculous discovery

Constantly updating your edit count on your signture is a great way to pad your edit count. I just checked my contributions, and discovered that had I spent 4.1% of all edits just on updating my edit count number. That's not counting any other changes in my signature, just the numeric updates. I counted mine a few months ago at there were like 6000 or so :(. What's nice about the counter function is the namespace identification. CP uses something that someone wrote off-site that is even cooler. It's linked, I believe, from their "welcome" template. But don't go look now, wait until Friday. Interesting

Because my old signature included a link to RationalWiki:Moral Matrix in it, that page was the #23 or so most-linked page on RationalWiki, with something like 308 links to it. But now that I've replaced that link, rather than immediately dropping like a rock to the bottom of the Most linked to pages like it should have, its number of reported links just fell to 290-something, and each time I refreshed the page, it dropped a little lower each time.
