Family First New Zealand are a conservative lobby group in Kiwiland. Founded in 2006, they are arguably the country's most far-right group of any political influence, managing to instigate a referendum on the so-called 'anti-smacking law' in 2009.[1]
They are opposed to gay marriage, the HPV vaccine, binge drinking, prostitution, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, marijuana, gambling, the liberalisation of Easter trading laws, non abstinence-based sex education, and the popular TV drama Outrageous Fortune.[2][3][4]
They should not be confused with the Australian Family First Party, though they are at the same end of the political spectrum.
