Dhu al-Qarnayn, name which literally means "The Two-Horned One" in Arabic, is a character which apperes in the Quran 18:83–101 as as one who travels to east and west and sets up a barrier between a certain people and Gog and Magog. Based on the similarities between his story and some legends arround Alexander the Great, it is commonly believed among muslim scholars that Dhu al-Qarnayn was Alexander the Great. However, this identification is problematic because we know that Alexander the Great was polytheist. That's why many modern muslim apologists made alternative hypothesis about it's identification (see later in the article for more details). Anyway, the story of Dhu al-Qarnayn as described in the Quran in general became very problematic for modern muslim apologist because it contains some elements which contradict our modern understanding on how the word works.
