2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Metamodernism is a complex cluster of cultural, political, social, and spiritual movements that all share the goal of integrating modernism and postmodernism, usually through a loose definition of oscillation. Like modernism and postmodernism, metamodernism does not refer to one ideology or perspective, but rather a cluster of perspectives that share fundamental values.

Notice: Upon your first encounter with metamodernism, you may dismiss some aspects of it due to your rationalist worldview. While this is understandable, please note that metamodernists see rationalism as just another useful ideology, with both strengths and flaws. Thus, metamodernists will be rational when they need to be, and irrational when they need to be.
