This essay needs work[edit]
For now I'm going to focus on the actual writing structure, as it is quite egregious, though I may reply to some of the arguments presented at a later date. A serious essay should remain rigidly structured in three major sections; Premise, argument, and conclusion. It should also focus on eliminating any unstated assumptions, avoid asides as much as possible, and remain clear and concise at all times. If the reader begins to lose the author's train of argumentation, the essay has failed. I hope the author will consider these points of constructive criticism. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 22:22, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- An essay should also be interesting: you should make the reader care, or at least convey to them, why you care about the argument being advanced. Ensure that the premises advanced entail the conclusion. Also make your essay elegant: the reasoning should be neat, your writing should be as clear and simple as possible, and try to use a rich variety of words without adding to the complexity of the essay. In order to attain elegance, I would advise producing several drafts and then pruning back where necessary LeucippusTalk 23:03, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
