Blue In Green—Bill Evans[edit]

Twenty-nine dollar—Tom Waits[edit]

This song is a gem: blues, jazz, rock and roll, folk music, and brilliant lyricism—the perfect sonic effusion.

Because of your edits to and time on the wiki, Autopatrolled has been added to your user rights. This lets you bypass most of the abuse filters, bypass the CAPTCHA, and edit more frequently. If you have questions, bleat ask away.

@IveBeenFrank Thank you my friend. Leucippus (talk) 00:04, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
Not a problem, keep up the good work. IveBeenFrank (talk) 00:05, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Doesn't link to your userpage it seems. You might want to fix that. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 12:38, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I don't know how I messed that up. Anyway it should fixed now. →Leucippus 15:00, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Notice of demotion[edit]

You’re a Sysop now. Christopher (talk) 20:33, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Thank you LeucippusTalk 21:16, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

If you’re unsure what the point of an edit was or whether it should stand, it’s always ok to leave it unpatrolled. No one likes seeing the red exclamation marks, but it’s better than letting something like that bizarre alteration to the Eastern Orthodox churches file through. Christopher (talk) 15:52, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, I wasn't sure what the point of that edit was. I thought patrolling it, would let other sysops know that the edit wasn't going unnoticed. Thanks for the advice LeucippusTalk 15:58, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

The threat you wrote in here [1] is unacceptable. Please redact it. LongStylus (talk) 18:25, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

You can keep the post, just remove the offending part please. LongStylus (talk) 18:36, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Alone Together—Chet Baker[edit]

Guess who got nominated for mod[edit]

You've been nominated in the upcoming moderator elections. See the nomination at RationalWiki:Moderator elections/Nominations. GeeJayK (talk) 02:16, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

@GeeJayK Thanks for the nomination brother—I’m flattered. However, I’ve only been on RW for little over a year, and I don’t think that I currently have the skills that a mod requires.
Also, I hear that congratulations are in order, someone’s about to become a father! LeucippusSalva veritate 18:18, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Global warming epilogue[edit]

What on earth does that quote have to do with global warming? Bongolian (talk) 02:50, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

An epilogue brings a work to a close and encourages the reader to reflect on the future. In Cormac McCarthy’s book The Road is set in a world where a major geological catastrophe has occurred; the quote I used is a memory from a pre-catastrophe world. That memory is of what we stand to loose: an act of brutality and ugliness, but also one of elegance and beauty—entire biospheres may be lost at the rate the environment is currently degrading. Thus the epilogue is to serve as a possible future, one in which the biological complexity we have known is but a faint memory. LeucippusSalva veritate 16:20, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

How? ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 19:02, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

With his talkpage access unrevoked... Where I explicitly engaged with him... Even after I said I wouldn't... That's censorship? ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 19:08, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
GC, when it's 3-1 against sysops, it's best to side with the majority. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but still was bad. --Andrew5 (talk) 19:15, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
@Andrew5 Do you mind? I'm trying to clarify something here. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 19:19, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

On Hume[edit]

Since I realized we didn't cover Hume's economic ideas, I decided to write a bit about them. It's still a work in progress, and I won't be able to finish until Friday, but I thought you might want to take a look. GeeJayK (talk) 12:40, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Thank you Gee, I appreciate your efforts to connect it with our previous discussion. I certainly have an interest in Hume’s ideas outside of philosophy and I’m pleased to have the opinion of an actual economist (as I’m not well-versed in economic theory). With this in mind, I hope I can give it read eventually …
“and I won't be able to finish until Friday” No pressure though, I’m not expecting you to meet a deadline ;). Cheers! LeucippusSalva veritate 18:46, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

The rewrite of the Tao Te Ching page is finished....[edit]

....I wanted some feedback so I decided to post it on the talk page for people to see. I don't expect any wiki to take kindly to new users replacing entire articles without warning.

The wiki told me to eff off.

Okay... I searched around a bit and found the Draft function. Great; it looked like just what I needed. So I copied my formatted article into a draft, and....

The wiki told me to eff off.

This is getting rather frustrating. They said go to the tech page... go there and do what? Where?

Sigh. I saved the draft.

Suggestions? Maelen (talk) 00:08, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

I for one haven’t seen your draft nor was I aware there was a dispute involving yourself being told to proverbially (as you put it) “eff off”. When it comes to the specifics of Tao Te Ching, I won’t be able to help you, as I have no knowledge whatsoever of that topic. When it comes to your wiki issues I can be of more help: if I can see the draft, I might be able to offer some resolution …. However, I wouldn’t interpret these issues in such hostile terms (that is, if my diagnosis of the undertone of your comments is correct) as being told to “eff off”—I’m sure it’s just cavil. Nothing to worry about. LeucippusSalva veritate 00:53, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

On George Orwell[edit]

I'm planning to give that page a bit of an overhaul, starting with more mentions of his work which wasn't his two final works. Seems you had that similar view couple of years back [if what you said on the talk page is anything going on]. Could do with some help on it [if you're still about, that is]...
