Oooh this should be fun. ТyrannisPlead 16:43, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

I'll try my best. More after work today. MDB (talk) 16:46, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
What "funny" to me about this letter, is how sickening it is. "now that health care is free, everyone seems to want more of it". Doesn't that line seem to admit that people NEED health care, but we are just too selfish to help people get it? And this from a christian. There are other lines that leave a similar "wtf" in my mouth that someone professing to love, would ever say/. Oh, the out right ENCOURAGEMENT of generic war for what appears to be wars sake. Because obama is the major pacifist (yeah, that turned out REALLY well), Russia has become too big for her britches. it would have been so much better to send thousands of men and women to their death to make war. really! sighs....--Green mowse.pngGodotWhy is being ignorant something to be proud of? 17:12, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

I enjoyed "Elementary schools now include compulsory training in varieties of gender identity in Grade 1, including the goodness of homosexuality as one possible personal choice." The amount of things wrong in that sentence is staggering. Blue (is useful) 17:18, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, that one put a smile on my face as well. --Green mowse.pngGodotWhy is being ignorant something to be proud of? 18:11, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

SORRY MD[edit]

Oh, man. i just saw this was an essay. I'm soooo sorry! I thought it was an article. take away my edits! now. :-)--Green mowse.pngGodotWhy is being ignorant something to be proud of? 18:22, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Your edits were actually good ones, but yeah. My essay, mine mine mine mine mine. :-) MDB (talk) 18:24, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Me too. I just clarified that they said "gender identity" in the elementary school bit, but they certainly meant sexual identity. Blue (is useful) 18:27, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
I doubt that blue. I doubt they knew enough to "mean" anything. I suspect it's all the same thing in their minds. boys WANTING to be girls, is the same as boys being in love with boys, just "more" or something. I remember growing up being told that all gays (who are of course all men, apparently women were never gay in the 70s) wanted to wear women's clothing, and they wanted to have sex with little boys, and they wore bras and panties under their suits. I'm sure that attitude is the same here. Hell, even my more progressive but "this isn't my issue" friends get lost with the difference in the various trans v. cross dressing etc., issues. --Green mowse.pngGodotWhy is being ignorant something to be proud of? 18:31, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
^told this is what bisexuals are. ТyrannisPlead 19:38, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
I hear you, WfG. I even have to correct "LGBT community leaders" on these issues which are so basic to some of us but so alien to so many more. Blue (pester) 03:25, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

A cracker[edit]

I greatly enjoyed, kudos. Voxhumana (talk) 23:39, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

I agree, most amusing and informative. I will share this with several friends, thank you. Desmond (talk) 03:28, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks and you're welcome.
I linked to it on Focus on the Fambly's Facebook page this morning. I doubt it will even get noticed, but it amused me to do so. MDB (talk) 11:49, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

"3 right"[edit]

Is one of those the DADT repeal? As it seems to have been on the cards for a while so wasn't a massive surprise, and didn't really pan out as predicticted - a long-haul dragging through the legislature rather than a whimsical order - do you really count that as a correct prediction? Scarlet A.pngd hominem 11:59, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

I'd have to go back and re-count. Maybe tonight. MDB (talk) 12:57, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

SBS would look more appropriate?[edit]

Is it just me...? [[User:K61824|]][[User_talk:K61824|]] 16:58, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

If I had the time to do it. I don't, not really. MDB (the MD is for Maryland, the B is for Bear) 17:00, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
I just sandboxed it here. Can either look it over and fix it up there, bring it here and continue, incinerate it in place, or whatever else strikes your fancy. Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 17:52, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
It's been copied over. Thanks! MDB (the MD is for Maryland, the B is for Bear) 18:35, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

"No terrorist attacks have occurred in the US under the Obama administration."[edit]

Not quite. The shooting of the Sikh temple was clearly a terrorist act. The Fort Hood shooting may well have been. Also, that bomb that didn't go off in Times Square came pretty damn close. JubalHarshaw (talk) 18:49, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

There are many attacks listed from the last two years alone - but "terrorism" is a funny thing, really, because it's a semi-arbitrary class of crime used to provoke fear and emotion, rather than give an accurate assessment of what that crime was. Terrorist-like actions are happening all the time, whether the headline reads "terrorism" or not seems to be based on what colour underpants the sub-editor of the news outlet was wearing that day.
